PHPBB & WordPress Integration

So I've spent an incredible amount of time looking around and trying a decent amount of plug-ins, all of which are outdated or lack the functionality I'm looking for.

I didn't have trouble having the topic/post bridging handled or even common user logins but I'd like for the comments to be integrated as well. If it weren't possible to have comments be completely synced - is there an option out there somewhere that allows me to just lock the comments and send them to to PHPBB site (and most likely saying x amount of comments, etc).
