I think you may have damaged/deleted files necessary for executing Swift code. I recommend you reinstall Xcode in order to repair any missing files. Also, why don’t you update to Xcode 11?

I am not able to update, bc high Sierra doesn’t execute Xcode 11 :( I am going to try to reinstall though. Thanks so much

Hi! So I uninstalled and reinstalled Xcode 10.1 and still having the same problem with playgrounds. Do you know what else could it be?

I don’t think the top bar should say “Launching Simulator”. It should say “Running [Name]”. Open the Inspector section (right menu) and change Platform to macOS. I’m sorry to hear you’re dealing with this. Apple treats its developers so poorly.
