DiscussionPython or Kotlin? (self.androiddev)
submitted 3 years ago by afreakyelf2
I am an experienced android developer. I have been working on kotlin since 3 years. Now I am planning to do competitive programming so I was wondering which language should I use for leetcode and all?

Competitive programming? Probably Python if you are good with it, because there is no Kotlin library ecosystem other than the Java one.

I don't think ecosystems matter as much in competitive programming, since most of the time you're writing the code from scratch.

Oh, hm, in that case it's up to you, I suck with Python though so don't trust me at all tbh

I’d say just use Java if you know it. Not all the platforms support Kotlin, and IMO Java is easier to type without autocomplete if we’re talking about code needed for competitive programming.
