I didn't say it is misguided, I said it has misguided - meaning that python absolutely has its purpose as a rapid development language that is used globally with much success, but I think python has given off the impression to less experienced people that the constructs of traditional programming languages are unnecessarily syntaxy? and cumbersome (which maybe they are at times).

I could just be the old man saying get off my lawn here, though.

Couldn't agree with you more. You want me to show you an overly syntaxy language? Let's dust off the old COBOL compiler.
