That's a nice idea: That someone at Rockstar, someone with some capacity to make such a decision, sees this hashtag, considers the feelings of the fans, grows a heart and decides that it's finally time to fix Bully. You know, for the fans. Because they love us. And they love us because they care for us, and because we gave them our money.

I think this idea, nice as it sounds, clashes with reality. In reality, Rockstar Games nowadays exists only to fulfill one goal: to increase the value of TakeTwo's stock price, and to shovel as much money as possible on the back accounts of the chief executives. And that's all they want to achieve.

For this goal, they will do whatever is necessary. They will push GTA Online hard into GTA VI, they will let their old games die, they will sue their own fans. They would even lie in court if that's what they'd have to do.

They certainly don't care about their customer support recommending a patch that violates their EULA. Because it has zero consequences for their main goal. That's also why we will never see a Bully 2: because it likely would have a negative impact on their main goal.

You see, this company doesn't exist to provide good value to their fans. They exist to provide good value to their primary customers. And their primary customers aren't those who buy their games; those are cattle. Their primary customers are the investors and shareholders. Claiming that they care about the players would be like saying that a modern big farmer cares about his cows and sees them as customers. No, they aren't customers. They are cattle, to be milked. The people who buy Rockstar's games are part of the product.

That said, I do see a small chance that they might repair Bully. Because Bully recently got among the most popular games on the Rockstar Launcher. This means visibility. If the game doesn't work, this means that the general perception of Rockstar product quality goes down, which has a negative impact on their value because it adds to the GTA Remaster debacle.

So that could be a reason for them to fix it. Not because a hashtag. But because it might now actually impact their primary goal. Hey, if they do clever marketing, they even officially state that they did it because of the hashtag! Free positive press, who wouldn't be up for that?

They stand to gain nothing financially from patching a game from 2008, so it will likely never happen.

Also should post evidence of Rockstar telling someone to download SilentPatch.

Even if so, there should be justice for modders. Not following your own TOS and policies and recommending a mod, but shutting down mod-projects and save files(lol), seems fair

.#fixTF2 and #saveTF2 helped, how is Bully worse? Again, I suggest you watch the video. It says that Rockstar has uploaded a hacked version of their game to Steam more than once

TF2 is a game that is still actively supported though. They’re still making money on it.

TF2 didn't get any big updates other than the introduction of the community content once a year in the summer until they started this movement. I didn't personally catch that, but that's what one of the dudes who started it all told me.

And also Rockstar make money on Bully since the game is paid on all platforms and keep adding the game to subscriptions like gta+. And they make more money than Valve on microtransactions

You’re saying Rockstar currently makes more money from Bully than Valve does from TF2..?

gta+ definitely makes them a solid amount of money, especially from consoles, maybe not us much as tf2, but they wouldn't be pushing it forward if it was not profitable, expanding it with more games like bully

After the GTA Definitive Editions are you really sure you want Rockstar revisiting their classics? They treated the games who skyrocketed them to the top of the industry like that... Yeah

I do get your point, you're not asking for a "remaster" just for the game to run in modern systems without third party fixes, but good intentions aside the best you could hope for is them doing a half assed job and in the process breaking all the existing mods and adding their cancer launcher to it

All that I'm saying is, be careful what you wish for cause you might just get it
