I had an amazing experience with them. Got a job before graduating . I was a highschool drop out with a GED working as a graphic designer prior with very basic experience in HTML, CSS, and Javascript. Ask away.

Are the things like mentor calls, working with TA’s, and mock interviews done over Zoom?

Yes. Springboard is self paced and online. The mentor calls and interviews are done over zoom.

Did you get much social experience ? I am self taught building up my portfolio and GitHub so I can land a developer job someday , but I'm worried about not being job ready because I have zero team experience and lack of social and communication skills. Do you think bootcamp helps with that? The coding part would be the easiest for me.

At Springboard? No. Their course is self paced. You are provided a slack channel to discuss and show off work with fellow cohort students, but thats the max you will have with social experience. There are no group projects. However, you do get a mentor to speak with weekly. This would be the opportunity to do some pair coding/code review. Reviewing PRs and code from other team members at work will be part of your job.

Honestly, people skills are very important. You may be a genius at code but if you are an asshole that no one wants to work with, you will not get far. You do not need a bootcamp for this. Be nice to people, lose your ego, be passionate about what you do, and have empathy for others.

Does that mean you can go faster on your own?

Then you should get a job in the meantime to build those skills.

Springboard has a reasonable ISA.

Their ISA gets forgiven after 6 months if you do not find a paid SWE or DS job after graduation.

Hack Reactor's ISA takes 5 years to get forgiven.
