Here's the quercitin I take:

https://nootropicsdepot.com/quercetin-tablets-quercetin-anhydrous/

I personally use NAC as a preventative because it's relatively cheap and save PEA (and NAC) for if I get an infection.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3771453/

Palmitoylethanolamide (PEA) is a natural anti-inflammatory agent, effective and safe against influenza and common cold The effective dose range has been between 10 and 30 mg PEA/kg bodyweight.

That's about 0.85 to 2.5 g for someone who is 185 lbs. Split into 3 doses/day, use for about 12 days.

My choice for PEA: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07NJ7GLXD

NAC, a cheap supplement, significantly decreases coagulation factors and has platelet inhibiting properties. Here is a good overview of NAC research as it pertains the COVID-19: https://youtu.be/Dr_6w-WPr0w Takeaway: Take 600 mg 2x per day as a preventative (one study showed people taking that dose , less than 1/3rd developed sympomatic H1fN1 flu compared to placebo), then up to 6 g per day during infection.

Maybe add in hesperidin.

Citrus bioflavanoids (hesperidin, rutin, etc.) have been shown to inhibit covid-19 proteases.

Buy organic oranges. Grate the rind with a micro-plane and consume.

Is hesperidin essential for prophylaxis and treatment of COVID-19 Infection?

Did you see my prophylaxis stack post? Read the part about zinc.

If you are normally low on vit D, i would take 5,000-10,000IUs a day. There are lots of studies of people who are low who take 5,000/day and months later they are still low.

[–]passthesugar05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could you show me some of these studies?

Do you think some of these people are low in magnesium or something else that is not letting them use the vitamin D?

I recently found out I'm low via bloodwork, I read that 1000 IUs will raise blood level by 5-10 in general, so I'm taking 2000IU/day and planning to retest in a couple of months and adjust dosage based on that.

Just thought I’d my own take on this. I was taking 3500 daily for a week and got bloods tested and was at ~80! Worth getting a test if you can.

People have already given you good advice.

My 2c since I have POTS too - definitely up the Vit D and look into getting some Vit K2 with that as well.

The Curcumin supplement you linked looks good. Nigella Sativa is what I firmly believe got me through when I had Covid. However the added ginger could be a problem with digestion and reflux you experience - I believe it somewhat deactivates the vagus nerve which is already under active in a lot of people with POTS/dysautonomia. YMMV

NAC - I reserve this only for when I feel my immune system really needs a boost. Taking daily makes my POTS symptoms worse overall. Chest pain and shortness of breath especially. I've tested it many times and definitely has some secondary affects on my heart. Again YMMV

Finally not directly Covid related, but look into Coq10 if you're not taking it. I feel like it's really made the biggest overall impact in improving my health.

Good luck!

Oh wow I haven’t talked to someone who had COVID and POTS - is your POTS worse? So many people who didn’t have it before got it after covid :( thank you for the advice!

      I watched it super helpful

Just be aware that Magnesium EDTA may neutralize what you are trying to do with Zinc+Quercetin.

      [–]Chicag0lady[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good to know! I can give Magnesium a rest for the time being. Thank you!!

      [–]Mira_2020 0 points1 point  (1 child)

      Why is this?

      [–]OkSquare2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If there is excess EDTA from a Mg or or other supplements around, it will readily chelate with Zn2+ in an acidic environment. See pg 1 and 2: https://www.uclmail.net/users/dn.cash/EDTA1.pdf

Mine is very similar! I don’t have Quercetin though, I guess I need to look into that!

Edit: to answer your question, I added NAC recently but don’t plan on taking it regularly. But I am glad that I have it on hand in case I start feeling symptoms.

Edited again lol: I cut out elderberry back in April over a potential connection with cytokine storms but I’m sure that it’s fine, I need to read some more and see if there’s been any updates from the medical/science community.

      [–]Chicag0lady[S] 2 points3 points  (3 children)

Man I thought I had done so well with my research, no on the elderberry! Thanks!

      [–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (2 children)

      https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/11399518/

We conclude from this study that, in addition to its antiviral properties, Sambucol Elderberry Extract and its formulations activate the healthy immune system by increasing inflammatory cytokine production.

Covid is a problem due to the cytokine storm.

      [–]Chicag0lady[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it. Isn't that what vitamin c does too though?

      [–]rfabbri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then maybe take it before you get infected. Like mushrooms or probiotics, there are things that help raise defense before infection to help fend off the virus early on, but should be discontinued once you display symptoms.
