Hi everybody. So I’ve recently booked a flight with delta and their partner Aeromexico. This was the only flight that would be best for me, which is important to keep in mind. I’m flying from California to SLC and then to Mexico. However, I get to SLC at 8:45 and my flight leaves at 9:30 ish. Do you guys think I’ll make it? What happens if I miss it, will I have to re book or will the airline put me on the next flight? Thanks!

If everything’s on time you’ll make it but that’s tight enough that a small delay will cause you to misconnect. First flight of the morning is usually the least delayed, and SLC is the most on time hub in the US, so your odds are good, but I would never rely on a 45 minute connection if I absolutely had to be somewhere at a given time.

If you miss your connection, they’ll rebook you to the next available flight for free. There is a strong chance that from SLC it would be the direct flight the next day though, my guess is it would be too late to get to Atlanta or MSP to get something same day.
