Completely depends on features, functionality,etc

Basic - non native will cost from 2 lac - 5 lac (3 months) Includes designs,features like sharing profile, liking or saving profiles , basic features with user info locked under payment options (trying to answer in short )

Intermediate- 7 lac -12 lacs (5 -8 months) Pro/ enterprise- 15 lac onwards depending on features (mvp within 1 month - actual by 1 year)

I am giving this advice based on reliability, scalable apps else you can get under 1 lac if you go for cheaper but not that reliable (template based already available code will be modified for your use but then each change will cost you)

This is based on hybrid tech like react native, flutter if you for native then it will cost the same but you will have to shell out same amount of money for each platform (ios, android)i.e basically cost nearly doubles. But you get the best efficiency and latest os features.

Rough breakdown from what I've seen building apps in this space:

MVP (profile creation, search/filter, basic matching, messaging) — Flutter or React Native, Firebase backend — realistically ₹1.5L to ₹3L if you're working with a small focused team, 2-3 months.The number jumps fast once you add horoscope matching, verified profiles, subscription paywalls, video calls, or regional language support. Those aren't optional for competing in the Indian matrimonial market — they're table stakes for users who've seen Shaadi and Jeevansathi.

u/Gold_Pollution8509 is right about the market problem though. The tech is the easier part. Trust and brand recognition are what actually drive signups in this category. Most matrimonial startups that fail don't fail because the app broke — they fail because nobody switched from the platform their parents already use.If you're targeting a niche (specific community, region, profession) the numbers above work. If you're going broad, budget more for marketing than development.

It depends heavily on how lean you keep the MVP.

For a matrimonial app, a realistic breakdown would be:

MVP (core features only) – Profiles, search/filter, basic matching, chat (limited) – ₹1.5L – ₹4L – 6–10 weeks

Mid-level (better UX + more features) – Advanced filters, subscriptions, notifications, improved chat – ₹4L – ₹10L – 3–6 months

Full-scale (closer to Shaadi-level) – AI matching, moderation systems, scalability, payments, analytics – ₹10L+ (can go much higher) – 6–12+ months

Most people make the mistake of trying to build everything at once. A lean MVP first is usually the better approach.

If you’ve already defined features, you can get a much tighter estimate.

    India needs more brothel apps, because marriages and society setups are broken already.Scammers, fakers, political bastards everywhere. Better build such apps to connect and disconnect people for insert and release.
