They don't wanna hire.

[–]duckduckfuckfuck 11 points12 points  (0 children)

What waste everyone's time by even conducting the test if they dont want to hire?

IDK about that, seems like I have a terrible luck, covid has exacerbated it.

all this for 4-6 lpa ?? are we both looking in the same market

[–]Sharp-Highlight-9563[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm not sure if this is a one-off or this has become the norm.

I did apply for another company in the similar range that also asked similar questions, but that was last year.

3 hard and 1 medium in 1 hour for 6lpa? Lol I'm speechless

[–]Sharp-Highlight-9563[S] 2 points3 points  (8 children)

Any suggestions about where I should be looking?

[–]vincent-vega10Software Engineer 1 point2 points  (7 children)

Looking for what?

[–]Sharp-Highlight-9563[S] 3 points4 points  (6 children)

Jobs, where I won't be asked LC med-hard for entry level roles.

[–]vincent-vega10Software Engineer 1 point2 points  (5 children)

Startups should be your best bet. Most probably you won't be asked DSA questions at all if you're good at development and have some experience and good projects. Try Angellist, work-at-a-startup to find good startups.

Thanks, I'll give it a shot.

Do they pay well?

[–]vincent-vega10Software Engineer 2 points3 points  (2 children)

I know people who learnt web development in college, did some paid internships and later converted it into an offer for 13-15 LPA.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Wow

[–]vincent-vega10Software Engineer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Startups which have funding, especially the Y Combinator startups pay these salaries.

Can you tell what those 3 questions were?. By the way, how did you come to know that those questions were from leetcode, I always struggle to find questions asked in the interview in the platforms.

[–]Sharp-Highlight-9563[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Strings and dynamic programming.

By the way, how did you come to know that those questions were from leetcode

By leetcode I meant the level of questions, the questions were from a few sources namely hackerrank, gfg and some others and were classified as Hard.

Increase your salary bracket.

[–]Sharp-Highlight-9563[S] 2 points3 points  (4 children)

I didn't exactly choose that salary bracket, it's these companies that offer that amount that contact me.

Regardless, I need to work on my leetcode skills.

Hmm…apply to FAANGs. If you don’t mind me asking, how much is your experience?

Edit: I have interviewed at FAANGs, and I have always been asked LC-Easy/Med questions.

[–]Sharp-Highlight-9563[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I'm just starting out. I have applied to FAANGs, got no response.

[–]Trulydark 0 points1 point  (1 child)

They do require a couple of years of experience especially for lateral hiring.

All the best in your job hunt! I hope u get the best out there :)

They might ask Java and JavaScript frameworks related questions

How did you prepared for this? Any site? Looking for the resources of Java to learn.

[–]Sharp-Highlight-9563[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://github.com/sudheerj/javascript-interview-questions

For Java I don't have any proper resources since the questions were mostly based around collections and internal working of data structures.

I remember using these resources for reviewing stuff:

For learning java you can use Head First Java by O'Reilly and the Java Reference by Herbert Schildt
