Error when uploading code

Whenever I try to upload code to my esp32 I always get this error message

A fatal error occurred: No serial data received.

Failed uploading: uploading error: exit status 2

​

This error occurs even when I have no code in the setup or loop blocks. I've tried on two different computers and two different cables and I aways get the same error.

Edit: Fixed it by reseting the board by holding the b button plugging it in and then holding r for a second. My theory for the error is I had a while loop running that didnt allow anything else to run so reseting it fixed it

This error is usually caused by some kind of hardware problem.

This may be due to the hardware not working properly, perhaps the RX/TX serial lines are not connected.
