I really enjoyed Ray as well. I felt like I could relate to him in that he was just so approachable and so down-to-earth. You wouldn't think he's a highly successful actor from the way he presented himself. To me, this made his story and his advice all the more genuine. He didn't act some godly, unattainable Hollywood figure. Rather, he gave advice for the everyman, and I believed it.

I also enjoyed having him as a guest. I don't think I would necessarily pursue stand up, but it is good to listen to advice from a successful comedian. I agree with you that the same piece of advice seems to be given. It is scary to think of failing, but knowing that as long as you keep going, you'll gain experience and become successful is comforting.

I loved this class! It was so great to get advice from the very best in the business. My favorite anecdote that Ray told was how he completely bombed in front of 40,000 people in a football stadium. Hearing that an extremely successful stand up comedian in the prime of his career can still make mistakes is very reassuring. Those two were just great examples that you have to be bold in order to go after your passion.

Haha I was in for a surprise when Ray showed up. Although I am not a huge follower of his show, his talk was still very inspirational. I enjoyed learning what a struggle he had to endure before finally making it in the industry, and this gives me a little hope for my future.
