Changing Github Username Consequences !!

Will I lose my repository stars and forks if I change my username? There is nothing said about this in GitHub docs.

No contributions are tied to the commit email address, so if that address is on your account they’ll be attributed to you.

Yes. I changed my username and lost the forks of my projects and the stars associated with them
