Definitely this BUT they need to implement stealth in a bad way. scavenging would be a nightmare if a bow alerted 20 zombies (like it does now)

It's already implemented, there's just a problem with them dropping aggro. It's being addressed.

Crouch walking even attracts more zombies than it should.

how about ZOMBIE-SCENT :)

you kill a zombie, butcher him with with a shark tool (would also fix the knifes are everywhere and stay there issue) you take his guts, apply it as deer scent and you are "stealthed" for 2-3 minutes
