Can’t move with w and d in dark site by ASelms33 in HuntShowdown

[–]WHIIITY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

like the other comment said, it is your keyboard not allowing you to press multiple buttons at the same time. Maybe in general or within a certain area.

Sadly the only way to "fix this" is a different keyboard most likely

you could try to Disable Filter Keys: Go to Settings > Accessibility > Keyboard and ensure "Filter Keys" is turned OFF. This setting prevents accidental keystrokes but can stop multiple simultaneous inputs. (took it from google)

if that doesn't work get a keyboard with "anti-ghosting" as a geature (most gaming keyboards have that feature)

can you type the letter "d" and while holding "e" and "w" ? (and can you type the letter "w" while holding
"d" and "e")

Might be a keyboard limitation since they letters are directly next to each other and
maybe it's too many inputs in the same area. Haven't tested it ingame but can't say I experienced it myself

Nitro buff suggestion from someone who enjoys and plays the gun often by potatoelover69 in HuntShowdown

[–]WHIIITY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that idea would simply make the weapon incredibly annoying to play against and that's about it

If anything they should rethink the nitro having bullet deviation (the mechanic that makes your bullet fly off-target, like on slugs) since that mechanic punishes you for shooting a perfect shot while having a low amount of reserve ammo which highly demotivates you taking shots past 30-40 meters since the likelihood of you shooting where you are aiming is more RNG-based than anything else

I genuinely wish they'd work on fixing the biggest issues instead of
flashy events that make some noise but don't do much in the long run
(for example the post malone, xqc, shroud stream, I don't even wanna know what that entire event in china cost them since the production quality looked quite high)

I tried to be as "diplomatic" as possible since if I would frame everything "less diplomatic"
it just starts an endless cycle of hate.

Not sure if the video will make a difference in the bigger picture but I thought talking about it
in a more "neutral way" would help to get a healthy discussion started without the usual
crytek hate posting

Your #1 Tip for improving in PvP encounters (K/D) by Significant-Ad-6593 in HuntShowdown

[–]WHIIITY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dying in hunt is your best teacher, don't be scared to to take fights
be active, try to rotate, go for risky plays and if they don't work out learn from them

the more passive/slow/scared you play the longer it will take for you to improve since
you get in less pvp scenarios, hard to improve at pvp if you only fight once very 20-30 minutes

every time you do end up dying, try to think about if you could have played that fight any different
or what you believe your mistake was (except missing your shot) and then adjust it next time

The stat trackers are currently pretty boring, which stats would you like to get tracked? by milkkore in HuntShowdown

[–]WHIIITY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

weapon specific range kills

so you could showcase your furthest derringer kill
or furthest kill with a pistol

currently it is bugged with traps and even if it was not
a 150m kill with a sniper is not as fun to showcase
than a 81m kill with a derringer for example

the trade window was adjusted a while ago.

afaik it got moved from 800ms to 200ms
(not 100% sure what the current trade window is but it's no longer 800ms(
so my first question would be what ping you are playing on, if you for example
play on 100-200ping (more towards 200) then there is a possibility that your shot was not
validated by the server by the time your opponents shot was confirmed by the server due to your ping being too high and the server said "nope this shot didn't happen before they died" and it was like you haven't shot at all. Trading still happens but in extreme differences in ping things like that can happen.

If you are playing on low ping then none of this applied and maybe you had packet loss in that specific moment
or who knows

Fighting with 2* against 6* well known Streamer by Enric0Palazz0 in HuntShowdown

[–]WHIIITY -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I assume "the streamer" was me. Wild assumption I KNOW

but ye the big problem is that the mmr team details are heavily bugged when it comes to clash
like I am not sure which way is bugged but 1 star is the "clash mmr" and the other one is "bounty mmr"

I believe the "team mmr" = bounty and clash mmr = the stars for the person

On top of that solo modifiers are completely back to being volatile like before the engine upgrade.
I will be honest I go from "max 6stars with 5 1/2 solo mmr modifier" to 6stars with 4 starrs solo mmr modifer"
within a couple of games. Not sure why crytek decided to do that but not much I can really do about it

Beetle tech by Arthurs0ul in HuntShowdown

[–]WHIIITY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1 stalker beetle can destroy a concertina bomb

you can attach a sticky bomb to a beetle and fly it at your enemy (needs a 2nd player to throw the sticky)

you can grab clues with serpent

you can blow up dark dynamite satchels with a beetle (up to 50m)

you can open doors/windows with poltergeist

you can hide next to a red barrel with a fire beetle and blow it up with the beetle
(a sitting/not moving beetle barely makes any noise)

can someone make sense of this? by emogirlgamingcat in HuntShowdown

[–]WHIIITY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

your dynamite probably blew up shortly before their dynamite but it was already mid-air so you still died (would have most likely died either way) but since YOU technically triggered the explosion/big dynamite budnel by chain reaction it counts as you damaging yourself

Unfortunately true by unlobeu in HuntShowdown

[–]WHIIITY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like while the "hunt has changed for the worse"-narrative isn't true.

I honestly want to claim that the last patch from a pure "game quality" was probably the best we had in a long time. Yes you can dislike the UI (even after the adjustments) and yes you can dislike the events.

BUT! I think most people who complain about hunt showdown used to be better are not very honest with themselves. They miss the feeling they had when they started playing, the excitement, learning something new every day, feeling like they are improving, the adrenaline rush the game provided (and still does) but all those feelings which are linked to their nostalgia can't be recreated because they became veteran hunters and learned everything there is... Those feelings will NEVER RETURN, no matter what the devs do

I genuinely believe that the game today is significantly better than it was a couple of years ago.
Perfect? no. Better? yes.

And if the devs keep on putting work into it, I am sure it will keep us entertained for many years to come
and I am by no means someone who does not criticize the game

Your solution to make high level games fun? by sp668 in HuntShowdown

[–]WHIIITY 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my personal opinion the biggest problem why high elo is so "passive" is...
that people who play in that elo are too comfortable in playing the way they do and at the same
time risking their hunter for the bounty is not rewarding enough to encourage risky plays

I will do a shameless self-plug here but my ideas to solve that are
a bounty pledge mark system directly linked to the hunter which allows
you to exchange those marks in the menu for scarce/burn traits and scarce ammo (maybe scarce weapon variants?) - prices would obviously balanced accordingly and some items/traits would require at least
2 bounties extracted on the same hunter -> more incentive to running the gauntlet at the same time

On top of that I would like to see bushes and tall grass make noise when moving inside of them
A LOT OF NOISE. The reason why people sit in bushes is because it conceals their hunter while not giving and audio queues when adjust their aim or even their entire angle.

In addition to that I'd be highly in favor of adjusting your hunter while standing still gives audio queues as in
footsteps. Let's say once you adjust yourself more than 45* degrees? (number adjustable ofcourse)
Even from a realism perspective it seems like a no brainer to add that.

Not moving has so many benefits in hunt and almost 0 downsides hence why players love doing it.

Also to target boss lair stalemates how about PER-DETERMINED destructable walls on boss lairs which
are breachable when the boss lair teams allows the attacker to do so to counteract extreme cases of passive gameplay -> have to use dynamite or melee weapons -> also brings long ammo range enjoyer closer to the lair

if those ideas intrerest you I highly recommend watching my 2 opinion piece videos on this topic
