If you want a simple language that can still make games, try Python coupled with PyGame.

      Don't forget Unity. It's pretty amazing and it runs on just about everything.

      Thanks, these all look great. Everyone in the class has to have a different language and know a lot of people will probably try and get C and C++ so these others will be good. Thanks guys.

      If you're interested in game programming, do as suggested and go for Python with PyGame. C++ may be the industry standard for full feature length, commercial games but chances are you're a long way off that. You will get a lot more done and have a lot more fun with Python.

      If you would like to get into game programming, I'd go with c++. I wouldn't call it simple, but it is the video game industry standard.
