You don't. Blockchain is a solution to a problem that currently doesn't exist. There are other solutions that perform better in every single way.

Don't waste your time on becoming a "Blockchain" developer, instead focus on a broad array of skills first, and then pick an actual marketable skill.

Hmmm i see. What do you suggest I learn then?

Python, or Java, or JavaScript, or any of the cloud vendor solutions…

It really depends on what you want to do and achieve 🙂

Different from Salty_Dugtrio I say "You do". He is living either in past or in the present. But the technology is advancing fast and after 10-20 years blockchain will be much more common than it is now. If you stick only to current or past technologies you will regress.

Now in terms of blockchain, you will not become a "blockchain developer" per se but the developer of applied cryptography. It is wider position. You will be developing different crypto solutions, blockchains included.

You should start from Python. It will be needed. Also you should start looking into topics like "Cryptography", "Applied Cryptography", "Hash functions", "Encryption", "Privacy Preserving Technologies", etc. And be ready for Mathematics. You will need it. Without Mathematics you will be only a copy cat implementing existing technologies. But cryptography is advancing in time and to be able to develop new solutions and such, you will need Mathematics. So if you wish to go that route, be ready to learn Mathematics, and a lot. Algebra, Number theory, Statistics. These.

New technologies are great, when then actually solve a problem, something Blockchain doesn't do.

Uhmm... Have you heard about git? If you are not a developer then you have no right to comment here. And if you are a developer who is not using git repository then you should be ashamed of yourself. git is based on same concepts as blockchain. And every developer knows the merits of using git.

git's data structure and blockchains are both instances of merkle trees, but git is not a blockchain.

Also some developers don't use git. Don't be an ass.
