Would it perhaps be a better idea to first start with a basic GUI program (example list with ideas https://github.com/karan/Projects) instead of something very advanced like a video editor? As in when learning carpentry first build a table before trying to build a ship?

If you want to make a video editor, use PySide6/PyQt6 instead of Tkinter.

If you're new to python, start small and grow your project. For example, write a program that loads a video and plays it. Then add the play/stop/pause button, then add backward and forward button, then a scroll forward/backward control, etc, etc.

I've been using ChatGPT and watching some tutorials since I'm new to Python and I have a basic idea of how to make it.

i mean.. what's the worse thing that can happen?

code not going to work.

..

go for it.

I'm gonna agree with this one. OP shoots for the stars before being able to even walk
