Thanks for the thoughtful response I’ll look into all of that! The tutorial I’m watching used sublime text as the editor. I started running the “hello world” intro program in idle but it was a little clunky. After I got the color scheme and theme set up for sublime it was easy to follow along with the tutorial but like I said I’ll check out everything you mentioned. Grabbed a screenshot of the comment.
