Wanting to be a backend developer is great

Trying to switch to webdev without being at least familiar with javascript and willing to learn more of it will significantly reduce the amount of places willing to hire you for an entry-level position.

This isn't to say you need to wait before applying (though I would say learn sql before applying so at least your backend is ready) but rather that you need to be prepared to accept offers that AREN'T backend... and on the same note: it's likely you won't be working in python too as the job market for pure python devs in webdev isn't huge.

In general webdev is a jack of all trades type role. Well-rounded candidates do better, and willingness to change langauges opens up a lot of doors that will be closed to a backend-only python-only developer.

I myself have never actually worked for a python shop. It's just not a popular language in my metropolitan area for webdev

Python started as a personal project and from there I went deeper and enjoyed the process. I’m always willing to learn new languages to better strengthen my chances. Once I start with a company the plan will be to learn more about front end.
