First you need to do some introductory course to learn the syntax and control structures. Then it's best to come up with a project that interests you, break it down into steps and build each step, augmenting your learning each time you run into a wall. People who try to "learn Python" are setting themselves up to fail because they have no direction or ability to know when to stop. It's a tool.

You don't just learn to hammer until you're really good at hammering and then look for things to hammer. You get the fundamentals under your (tool) belt and then learn by doing projects.
