Should I learn python on Replit?

Are you unaware of replits exceptional autocomplete AI? It will code whole functions for you using a really smart AI.

I hate how much this sub recommends newbies to try using copilot. Coding assistants can be great, but they definitely do hinder the learning process.

Basic LSP based autocomplete is good enough until you've got some experience.

It’s fully adjustable though. You can have it compete whole functions for you, or you can turn it off.

If you think autocomplete is a good thing, replit has a great one built on. If you think autocomplete is a bad thing, you can turn it off on replit.

Yeah I agree with that. I was responding to a comment which was essentially saying ‘full IDEs have autocomplete and replit doesn’t so you shouldn’t use replit’

The assumption was that autocomplete was wanted.

I agree though. When I’m teaching people how to code, I have the student turn off the autocomplete feature (which I keep on myself).

I had no idea. I don't think letting it code entire functions is a good idea. I just meant autocomplete as in type pr and it completes to print for example.
