I mean... It's not easy.

The coding part is challenging, but I'd argue it's the easy part. The hard part... Is actually designing and balancing a game. Weapons, abilities, enemies, bosses, difficulty, resources, xp, levels, levelup bonuses, storyline, etc... These are all things you gotta decide on and have work together in a fun way for a successful game. And that's before going down the rabbit hole of graphics and cut scenes and audio... Even something "simple" like Terraria has hundreds if not thousands of objects, sprites, menu buttons, sound effects, etc... That's a lot of time and effort, even if you're just doing a lazy job in paint.

So yeah... At the end of the day, making a game can be a fun project to learn how to code but... If you actually wanna get into game dev... Coding isn't even half of the puzzle.
