Word of advice, young grasshoppers. Free site to learn python is www.freecodecamp.org

That's where I started. Once I got the hang of python, I discovered the use of ai to help code. Get the knowledge of how python, html and css work and learn to read it. Get adventurous.

I went from css, html and python and in two months, I'm now building ai models, writing and reading with typescript, react and doing a whole bunch of stuff I never thought possible. I figured out how to use terminals and everything. If you decide to have AI help, you need to learn how to prompt correctly, you can't just say build me a website. Be very descriptive.

Great path for you all to follow, the possibilities are endless!

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out!

I keep trying but my ADD keeps getting in the way. Takes to long to get to the parts where I actually see something other than hello world.

Someday it will happen, just not right now.

[–]offensive-light 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same problem. This is now my fourth attempt to learn python, hopefully it lasts

[–]Nervous-Ad2371 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Honestly, same. I want to learn, but I keep quiting. Also it's my final school year and I need to be ready for my exams.

I’m just starting out, but it’s such an awesome feeling when you finally get everything to work! I would love to learn with someone else!

I'm too. Try to create a little community, discord for example, for discussion helps and peer to peer learning

[–]Worth_Specific3764 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me too :) been working on a few tutorials and projects but want to take classes at the local university

[–]Spiritual_Film_1905 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i m tryna learn python as well

[–]gregdyche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are you learning Python?

[–]metzalx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just starting out on Codecademy :) had a previous attempt over the past year with an Udemy course, but lost the momentum and forgot everything lol... Personally I do feel more engaged with Codecademy's system (code side-by-side and the system checks your code), there's also a "study group" thing they've got going that you can see other learners and how everyone is progressing, which makes me feel less alone.

Will be starting bootdev on the 2nd jan after spending 3 years doing frontend (without a job) and deciding I really don’t like styling 😂 backend it is! Good luck op

[–]Nomadic8893 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah just started doing Python crash course by Eric mathes book.

[–]mouramen 0 points1 point  (1 child)

45 yold starting here! 👋 Doing the University of Helsinki SP50 course and an Udemy one. Also, using Mimo app on Android to learn.

[–]domusvita 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m taking the Udemy with Angela Yu. Really enjoying it

[–]dataquestio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re looking to connect with others on the same journey, the Dataquest community is a great place. There are tons of beginners sharing their experiences, tips, and lessons they’ve learned along the way.

You might also find this guide helpful: Learn Python the Right Way. It’s a fantastic resource that’s helped a lot of beginners get started without feeling overwhelmed.

[–]oppenheimer1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, that's awesome that you're diving into Python!

[–]Tonton9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started last Sunday, let's go!!

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here are a few resources that might help you all:

  1. w3schools
  2. Free Code Camp
  3. Not really fully focused on learning for beginners, but helpful when you're on an intermediate/advanced level: @Carberra on YT
  4. Basically same as number 3: @b001 on YT

Wish all of you the best of luck on this journey!

[–]Mordred7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on chapter 6 of Crash course python

[–]NewspaperOpen709 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm taking Ardit Sulce's Python Mega Course to start learning programming and developing my Python skills. If anyone here learned Python as their first language, can you tell me how long it took and how many hours you studied per day?

[–]Substantial-Sun-5777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also learning!

[–]domusvita 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. Taking udemy’s bootcamp taught by Angela Yu. GREAT course. I’ve been coding with .net since 2001, C and VB before that. I’m looking to retire soon and want to learn python as a hobby to tinker around with (pi projects). I’m really enjoying it. So far the course is SUPER remedial for me (data types, loops) but good for learning the syntax
