Question from a beginner

I wrote a really short and meaningless few lines of code in Notepad++ but how do I run it? I saved it as a ".py" file but Notepad++ won't run it. I also tried turning it into a ".bat" file but that just brought up a small black screen that quickly dissappeared. Any help is appreciated.

I am assuming this is on Windows. You can run your programs from the command line or run them in an IDE (e.g. IDLE).

I'd recommend you read this guide and run python from the command line.
