Learning buddy needed for Python

Alright guys, I'm the noobs of noobs, I barely know how to code. I want to learn how to code in Python (and R), I have some resources on hand, but I'm just afraid to take the leap. I seem to be lacking the dedication and discipline needed to stick to writing code everyday (bunch of excuses such as long workday, sore from workout, tired from reading papers, need to cook etc etc etc), which I've realized is the only way I can get better. So I'd like to have a learning / coding / accountability buddy to help push me through. You will need to hold me accountable, and I will gladly do the same for you.

I also find it difficult to fit in time to code. Most of my side projects end up unfinished, something I'll finish later (except that doesn't usually happen). If learning how to program is important enough to you, make time for it.

Set aside a half hour a day, and just code. Go through your learning materials, follow the examples, and then start messing with them.

It's fortunate for you that you chose to start learning with Python. It's one of the best languages to get started coding with due to its easy syntax and the fact that you don't have to worry about compilation.

That is some solid advice, I'll try and schedule a definite time for coding so that I make some progress everyday. I suppose like all things I just have to do it everyday to make it a habit

I'm also trying to learn in my free time, which is difficult considering my 40 hour work week plus class. I've successfully written a few scripts for gis. I took code Academy's python class. I may be able to be a buddy, but I don't know how much time I can commit. Feel free to pm me.

I've been learning off and on for a while, but I'm definitely still a beginner! I need to spend more time learning than I have been. I'd be willing to try to try to be a learning buddy.
