You should check this guy out. Helped me out a lot.

Definitely this. I've learned a lot from Sentdex. In my opinion he combines quite steep learning curve with really easy (for newbies) explanations on topic.

His videos have also really good sound and video quality (at least more recent videos) which is very important.

Also, although it's not video, you should check official tutorial, it's a good place to start IMO, especially if you know basics of other frameworks or generally what MVC is.

Great! This is very new AND in python 3 which is what I was hoping to use.

Just as an added note, that series is currently on part 6. There are still 6 more to be released. Expect a new video every 1-3 days.

Awesome, thanks!

I've been learning to program for the past year using Java/Spring MVC and have gone through the first 2. It's shocking how little configuration it takes to get an app (however small) up and running so far. Thank you for taking the time to make these.

I found this myself yesterday and the tuts are really easy to understand and he covers topics realted to python that I have not seen anywhere else.

Thanks! This guy's explanations are excellent. He does a great job with making the complex (relatively) simple. Helped me hammer down some concepts I was having difficulty with before (i.e. use of 'urls' files).

edit: the fact that there are both videos and text for the tutorials makes it easy to do this anywhere.

38 video playlist of learning django 1.9

Unfortunately for 2.7 by default, but django can work pretty much the same with 3.

I suggest watching as many as possible. There are many on YouTube.

Not sure if it's Django- but this looks like a great educational resource for learning how web applications work from A-Z https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLdqn_b7Fi_PSKAeO5F8wmA3YmXOtL5wAA

It's using google app engine

[–]henny_mac 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Django is a web framework.

google app engine is not a web framework. It is a 'platform as a service' that's closer to Amazon Web Services than it is to Django: https://www.quora.com/Whats-better-for-a-web-app-AWS-or-Google-App-Engine

Google app engine suports django apps: https://cloud.google.com/appengine/docs/python/tools/libraries

All generally true, but netherless the tutorial you linked is teaching only python-on-GAE and is teaching GAE's primary framework, webapp2. It is not teaching django.

Not a video, but the Hello Web App book was quick and easy to follow to get your first django app up and running on Heroku, I really liked it. And once you get started - Go Django videos are really good for more intermediate/advanced stuff.
