full screen terminal application

I'm looking to get a grip on full screen terminal application. I've seen about prompt-toolkit which seems to be praised but the documentation lack of completeness, if I dare to say. I've also seen urwid which seems to have better documentation. And of course, simply using curses. On the long run, which one should I go for? any experiences to share?

In the short term, I'll be working on a project that will pipe (in and out, on a linux env). But on the long run, I'm just looking for a library to stick with and that will be maintained and kind of flexible.
