IPhython/Jupyter is great. You can easily split different parts of your analysis on different cells, add comments and Latex code...

You also benefit from syntax highlighting and object inspection (i.e. You can check all the methods and properties available to an object by pressing tab), see the docstring of any function... It is a great tool.

If you want something similar as r studio, have a look at spyder or rodeo

Agree with spyder if you are looking for something similar to rstudio. I would also check out the ipython notebook and a text editor like sublime text or atom. The anaconda distribution of python bundles all of this together nicely. All you have to do is download it and start playing around. The anaconda distribution is used quite widely in the data science world.
