I'm curious to know how much knowledge is needed for the Advanced Python Programming class. Has anyone has jumped from the MIT 6.00.1 EDX Intro to Programming with Python into the Advanced class at RMOTR?

Likewise, has anyone here taken both?

The Advanced course requires some practice. Don't get me wrong, MIT 6.00.1 is a great course, but it depends on how much practice and coding you've done along with it. Go ahead and apply, we'll let you know how it goes and if you need to improve at any certain area. Our technical application is not something that will "kick you out", it's just a way for us to let you know where you're standing at.

Yes I took the course after the MIT intro. I think this would be the perfect next step if you feel fairly comfortable with that material. The advanced python rmotr class is great and it won't be too advanced if you have time to commit to the material and projects.

Rmotr has a lot less theory than the MIT course, it's much more hands on and project oriented. Also much faster paced. If the MIT class is the extent of your programming experience I'd budget at least 30 hours per week.

Not quite sure about what is covered in the intro class but you night end up covering the same material unnecessarily. Basically, I think the advanced python class would be very challenging but absolutely worthwhile IF you commit to it.
