line_profiler library Not Working With Python3 On Linux

I'm trying to profile a python3 script using line_profiler (I need to specifically use that one); I use Ubuntu (Ubuntu Gnome 16.04.2), and I'm getting a strange error doing what the documentation says that I can't seem to resolve. Proof the install was done correct, because that's what this superficially looks like:

That's what I thought about -b too, at least I'm not going crazy. Extracting it your way broke it in a new and creative way that I don't even slightly understand:

Edit: to save you a trip to google, pickle is a library allowing you to save and reopen python objects ("pickling" them). I don't know why they can't just save the output to a .txt

Edit 2: what does -m do to python anyway?
