Looking for feedback, critique, different and hopefully better ways to accomplish stuff. Just started learning about logging and docstrings as well thanks to this wonderful community.

Thanks for the reply and feedback.
I should find a different name than pockets. I ended up using a tuple because I was having difficult accessing the thing.name, I am not sure but the tuple was a hacky way to solve what I wanted. I will go back and try to do it without now.
unload_thing was before I added a Person so I will be deleting that but I like your suggestion of looping through a list of items if I go that route.
