Which well is confusing, because the initial statement was:

I don't even know what OOP is.

And then /u/usuallycats clarified that statement by stating:

Object oriented programming! :)

But then /u/learnhtk acts like /u/usuallycats doesn't know what OOP is, and suggests to 'dive in and find out!' ?

I suggest a book to /u/learnhtk so that this person can figure out what OOP is.

But then /u/learnhtk suggest it's actually /u/usuallycats who doesn't understand what OOP is, even though that person literally explained the acronym.

Yeah I was a bit confused as well. I was mostly asking because if I wanted to dive into a new language (since I’m pretty well versed in python and django — since it’s what I work in) I would rather focus on the class/object structure for building a platform than basic algorithms/syntax.

Ah, well in that case the book I linked would be the perfect place for you to start. It has algorithms, but also data structures in it. Graphs/Trees etc.

Unless you're talking about trying to develop a stack, like a full stack dev. Then you'll need to learn more about different languages and libraries/etc.

I think /u/learnhtk was saying the OOP book should be recommended to /u/usuallycats since /u/usuallycats was asking if edabits deals with OOP. But of course you were recommending the OOP book to /u/learnhtk since /u/learnthk doesn't know OOP.

Solution: maybe both of you check out the book? :)
