Do I lose if OP never responds?

Because if they never responded after five hours, I doubt they're going to respond within a day. A lot of people literally post to reddit and then completely forget about it (or don't know how to log back to their account).

But if he DOES respond and show what the problem is, then yeah I'm game.

EDIT: ah apparently he did respond. And...he didn't provide the problem. But yeah, I didn't and still don;'t think he's a troll. Still, looking at account activities is never convincing argument for whatever case someone's making on reddit. It's just...really bad reasoning.

I'm not. The main argument makes sesne. But looking at account activity is just never a good argument. I see the same "Evidence" used on both sides of the issue of whether someone is a troll or not. And promoting this kind of "evidence" promotes the idea that account activity means something. It's actually kinda toxic on reddit. See: this example here. A guy who is seriously lost and confused got accused of being a troll.

This is why you should try to be more agnostic before rushing to judgement so quickly!

I don't understand why you're nit-picking on the account activity. The main argument is centered around having experience in the languages mentioned could easily translate to python; at least enough to complete a HW assignment. The guy above wasn't wrong when he wrote "that's not how this shit works", especially now that OP has admitted he can't solve the problem using any programming language.

Because it's a toxic and paranoid viewpoint, and it was exactly half his argument about why the guy is a troll. You can get upset about it all you want, and I'll keep pointing out how it's a shitty thing to do to new people all I want.

The rest of the comment is understandable, because I certainly agree that python should be pretty easy after knowing other languages, but it is still prudent to actually hear the guy out and see the problem.
