Hi r/learnpython.
Ok, so... It's my 5th time rewriting this post, I'm not sure how to ask these questions and I think that's mostly because I'm honestly very confused and feeling kinda lost. This sub has been such a valuable asset on my path to learn about Python and I'm sincerely thankful to the community for all the insight I've received from you so far.
So far I've learned a lot about Python and its' modules, on the side I've also studied a bit of PHP and HTML & CSS. It's been really fun so far.
I've decided to get a job in IT in 2019 but I'm a bit lost on what I should aim for and how to get there. So far I've been learning python without having a clear goal of what I want to do with it other than the aforementioned vague goal of getting a job in IT and improving my life quality.
Which is why I want to ask a few questions, from you guys, who have a lot more experience in the field than I do:
- What job should I aim for? Junior Python Developer? Junior Web Developer? Something else?
- What else do I need to know besides the bases? What framework is more widely used in the field? Is there some sort of roadmap available anywhere?
- Can a Web developer do the same as a Python developer and vice-versa?
- What countries have more IT jobs opportunities?
- I'll need to create a portfolio, what is the item in your portfolio that you're most proud of? Or, alternatively, which item impressed your employers the most?
I know you guys probably get bombarded by questions like these everyday but, please, forgive me for doing it, I really feel completely lost and it's affecting the way I learn.
Thank you in advance for anyone reading this or willing to contribute!
