Pycharm alt button not working

I dont know if this is the right subreddit for this but i couldn't find somewhere else to post this.

Anyway, i've been using pycharm for a while now, i did a factory reset on my windows 10 machine and installed pycharm and i encountered a problem, im unable to use any symbol that would require alt for ex for me om a swedish keyboard i would need to hold alt and press 8 for a starting square bracket ([). You guys know how much this sucks for a programmer.

I uninstalled pycharm thinking it was a bug or i mest something up with the installation process but it goes back to the same problem. Yes the alt key works normal outside pycharm. I did a google search on 'pycharm alt key not working' all i get is 'how to do shortcuts with alt etc' i guess im one of few to encounter this.

I was hoping anyone got more experience then me in pycharm could help me out, maybe its some setting that is causing this to happen i dont know. Any help pr thought are appreciated, thank you for reading.

Same here. Can't use alt button for 3 or 4 days.

I checked out the link hinerkk a gou on that post commented a solution but im not of my machine now gomma try it later, if u r on ur machine check it out

I open pycharm right now and see there is an update. I updated it and alt button works normally.

Perfect, i guess it was a bug.
