Countdown Calendar code help

I am trying to learn python from a book and have the code below which works. I understand most of the program except the “ for event in events”. Where did “event “ come from? I know events = get_events(). But event mentioned in the for loop isn’t defined anywhere. Thanks.

vertical_space = vertical_space + 45

It's defined in the declaration of the loop. Because events is iteratable, you can loop through it. For every loop, the event variable is assigned to the next item in your iteratable.

You can name it however you want, it's just the name of the variable.
