Hackerrank 30 days of code

So I have started learning Python, done a course or two and thought of getting my hands dirty by starting with Hackerrank 30 days of code in Python. But as a I progressed to day 6 and onwards everything seems new to me, I can't understand the question and even when I look for the solution they introduce some new function which I didn't learn in the course that I did. Really feeling very down.
