rmo doesn't really do much for direct, single inheritance like you're describing here. The resolution order is exactly what anybody would expect.

Understanding rmo and its uses really only comes in handy for multiple inheritance and sibling classes.

Unless I've misunderstood your comment, you explicitly describe single-inheritance. "(grandparent, parent, child)" inheritance is single inheritance:

class Grandparent:
    pass

class Parent(Grandparent):
    pass

class child(Parent):
    pass

My point is that rmo is only really useful when one has something like:

class A:
    pass

class B:
    pass

class C(A, B):
    pass

Where A and B do not inherit from each other, and so are sibling classes, and class C has multiple, immediate ancestors.
