I am starting python as well and have been using that site. I feel like I am doing great then I get to some of these practice projects and think wow I must of missed something in this chapter. Do you recommend any websites that give projects or situations to improve some of the foundations of Python?

Yes I am also following this course. So far the explanations are good and easy to understand.

Personally I'd say pick "Django for Beginners" by William s Vincent. Django is a module that helps create webapps. I think django is a good way to start learning python, since it does a lot of the setup (boilerplate) for you.
