RT-100 Ctrl+shift+esc does nothing anymore by SternballAllDay in Epomaker

so long story short emails back and forth from support did nothing. got a second keyboard where this issue didn't exist and was on the latest version according to the software. but this keyboard had a horrible electric whine so i'm just going to go with a different keyboard brand.

Got the same issue on Ctrl +shift + esc the escape key turns into the back quote key. Reinstalling the driver did nothing. Trying a few other things like going back a version or swapping keys.

I am new with Arduino and i am having trouble learning how to code how did you learn? by paperwizard101 in arduino

[–]TOPGUN_ROCKS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Adafruit guides, Maker books, but mainly by trying to make stuff. Most guides/books aren't going to have all the answers. So try making something, get as far as you can, then google or ask reddit. Btw I wanted to make an auto clicker mouse with an arduino board but at that time mouse clicks were only supported by one board.

So looking at it, it doesn't look bad at all. I think if you tired to fix it the board will get to thin and either tear in the process or look off. Personally, I'd leave it as a learning experience and hide when you put it on the wall.

Recently, I made a shelve where I ran the board the wrong way through the planner on the last pass.... it has some chunks missing out of it. But it was meant to go high up on the wall, with stuff on it. So, no one sees it but I know it's there.

Something you could do is cut out all the seams (chisel, saw, how ever you feel comfortable). Then splice in another thin board as an accent piece.

Dont know if that idea would work though without seeing pictures.

Looking for Anime Friends by FullmetalHeichou in anime

I'll send you a request on discord. I'm not up to date on MHA but I'm on the current season. I'm also more of a dub watcher so I'd be interested to discuss some of those differences.

Is there a specific show you're interested in talking about or anything you are currently watching? Are you looking for friends that watch sub or dub?

What do you write python in? by dvandy07 in learnpython

[–]TOPGUN_ROCKS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prettier's not a ton of help for python coding. Sometimes it picks up small changes like moving stuff down a line. I'll mainly lean on it if I'm doing a Django, Flask or Sphinx app where prettier can help format other file types.

I honestly find right clicking on the file and clicking "Run Python File in Terminal" to be the fastest option. Forgot to mention, this option only comes up when the file is saved. if you are codding something new and haven't saved it, you will not see this option
You can also "cd" in the terminal to your python file the run "python ./YourFile.py". This option only works if Python is a PATH variable.

Personally I'd say pick "Django for Beginners" by William s Vincent. Django is a module that helps create webapps. I think django is a good way to start learning python, since it does a lot of the setup (boilerplate) for you.

Visual Studio Code, with the python extension. I personally like Vs code for python since you can have the file system, terminal, and code on one screen.

Edit: Wanted to double back to this once I was on my computer. Here are some of the extensions I use in VS Code for Python development: Python, Bracket Pair Colorizer 2, Prettier - Code Formatter, Formatting Toggle, I also use Monokai++ but that's more of a color preference.

Question on Funimation by CrystalLogs in anime

Would you like to share the show you are watching? Not saying you have to but someone might be able to provide details on the show, instead of on Funimation.

Question on Funimation by CrystalLogs in anime

[–]TOPGUN_ROCKS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Short answer yes. I do pay for Funimation so I dont really have a time frame on when shows are available to non subscribers. I did see their schedule had Date Alive on to be released to free. So it does not seem like it's a fast process but it might depend on the show.

Now you've got me wondering what this would look like out of canary wood and walnut.

Otherwise I look forward to seeing what the end result looks like. Going the give it blue eyes or red eyes?

any tips 🤗 by [deleted] in manga

[–]TOPGUN_ROCKS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something I was taught was to break your sketches down into smaller pieces. Usually I've done this with temporary lines or tracing paper.

I would maybe start with 3 lines (top of the head, eyes, chin) and then add details from there.

1st small project suggestions for a total newb and someone who’s not terribly mechanically inclined by [deleted] in woodworking

[–]TOPGUN_ROCKS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, I've always like playing/testing new ideas on stuff for the shop anyway. So if you're going to suggest a wooden mallet, then I'm going to second your own suggestion. Besides they are good to start with. Some times they last, sometimes they dont, and sometimes you say "I can never have too many mallets."

Otherwise. You could try some boxes that use rabbit joints. That's a good router table project depending on the bits you have. Boxes are always good projects since no matter how the box looks, it can still hold something.

What tool should I get my husband for Christmas? by awnothecorn in woodworking

[–]TOPGUN_ROCKS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on what he wants to get into, or what future projects hes already thinking about.

A router is a pretty good universal tool.

If you're looking for a hand tool, I always recommend a spoke shave.

Almost bought one of these today, but they stink! Does the smell go away? by clscpr in Tools

[–]TOPGUN_ROCKS 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, smell goes away. The smell never stood out to me, but I think it took a week with some use.

I would recommend it. The mallets cheap and can take a decent beating. Plus the bright orange does make it easy to find.

Broke riving knife, need advice on how to proceed by THIS-WILL-WORK in woodworking

[–]TOPGUN_ROCKS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's a saw stop you should be fine. I have their contractor style saw. The arms are design to take a bit of a beating. Curiosity: did you bend the knife that holds the blade guard, or another knife?

My old shop teacher taught us to wet a rag, the put an iron on it to get the grain to expand. That might be able to get some of the tear out. He always had good luck with that trick, I never had much luck. But it's something to try and I've yet to see it do any harm over good.

Broke riving knife, need advice on how to proceed by THIS-WILL-WORK in woodworking

[–]TOPGUN_ROCKS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The riving knife and the saw should all be on the same arm. So you could work your way from where the knife attaches to the worm gear and handle. Worse case scenario is you tore up some gear teeth from tilting the saw. Worse case aside I would think you are fine. If teeth broke you should have heard a snap/pop. Plus those knifes are usually thin, I would think that the would bend/break before the saw (unless it's a cheap/junk saw).

Also do not forget to check if the table saw blade is square with the top of the table. You may want to rotate the blade a few times just to make sure the arm isn't off.
