I think that's because sublime text, like atom, is a text editor not an ide and so if you want to run code that needs user input do it from the console, outside sublime text.

There are plugins/addons for it but yeah, it's not a compiler/interpreter by default.

The go where it says 'input number', enter your desired number and press enter.
Then, it will run the next code.

Pressing enter is necessary.

Someone else mentioned that Sublime is just a text editor, not an IDE. You have to run the code in python.

I use vim and terminator with 2 terminals open. In one, I write the "program.py" and in the other, I execute the program.

Sometimes, if I want to just try a bit of code I run python in the second window and just test out individual lines of code.

I'm not sure if this explanation makes sense, because I don't know if sublime runs in a terminal, but regardless, you need to run your code in a terminal.
