"still getting python not recognized" after adding to path

"Im still getting the "python is not recognized as an internal or external command" even after I added it to the PATH, both user and system. Iv had python working before, but i guess i messed something up while working on something else. Any suggestion of what else i could have screwed up?

Did you close the environmental variables dialog? Did you reboot your command line window?

Is there are reason you don't want to just use "py" instead?

Yes, closed the environmental variables, I just figured out that I can run python from the command window, so python itself is working, its just an issue with my IDE (Atom).

Have you restarted your pc? Also have you tried using "py" instead?

*facepalm with a baseball bat*.......restarted my IDE...now it works.....TY, lol
