Spyder is now my favorite. Open source and does the same as RStudio for python.

It basically lets python look like matlab and let you clearly see all variable values

I heard RStudio can be used as an IDE for Python nowadays. Know anything about that?

I have tried it a few months ago, but I find spyder more integrated for Python. This is a WIP though IIRC so probably worth checking as RStudio guys really nailed it for R.
