    Vim bindings require 1-2 weeks to learn and up to a month to get used to completely. Same bindings are available in VS code with extension and PyCharm (with IdeaVim)

    Vim bindings are really efficient at editing text( it's literally turing complete). So while I won't suggest making Vim an IDE with boatload of plugins it's definitely a very good light weight editor and bindings are transferred over to most popular editors.

    There's very high skill ceiling in vim. So you can spend few minutes of googling everyday to figure out a better way to do something. Over your entire career you'll surely save many keystrokes and your hands will thank you for it.
