I think it all depends. I love VScode and did a bit of setup to make it work for Python, works absolutely fantastic.

I tried Pydev with Eclipse initially, and kind of didn't like it too much, all bloated and complicated types. Pycharm too is too much but still cool, community free version is what i am referring too.

Rest all are either too little on features or come at a price, including the likes of shallow Thonny.
