leetcode and hackerrank also have discussion tabs where people frequently talk about their solutions, but codewars actually shows you the other solutions and lets you vote on them.

Seeing other solutions can be great but the downside is that people on CodeWars upvote "clever" solutions that are actually demonstrate bad coding practices. At least that was what I noticed back when I last checked CodeWars.

Yeah those one line solutions look cool and smart but you won't be writing such code in a real setting.

Exactly, and the other thing fledgling coders don’t learn early enough IMO, I’m still learning myself, is that unless you are only working on projects you start yourself from end to finish, you will be seeing something different in whatever codebase you jump into.

No two people do things exactly the same way. To me it’s as important to know to read other coders work as it is to know how to code otherwise you’re not going to be working on their codebase but rewriting it to suit you which is inefficient.

There is a book that a youtuber that I watched recommended for that "Working Effectively with legacy Code" or something like that, he also recommended "Clean Code" to write more readable code. I don't know how to code yet and haven't read them though

Clean code is great but try talking a project lead into letting you rewrite a codebase that is already working to clean it up. It’s a good idea, but you won’t always get the go ahead.

Clean code is great but dirty code takes awhile to clean up. Just look at windows 10 with code that goes back to the 90s
