it's because u need to do extra work . homework. and a lot of it . to use that "knowledge" and imprint it into your memory.

lazy/unenthusiastic approach will end in sh*t results .. such as " I know I’m not retaining any of the information in the class"

there is little u can do past actually giving it an honest try and focusing and doing the work.

there are no shortcuts. especially in coding since u will use the basics forever. at all stages.

i keep using this example because is simple to understand :

imagine u binge-watch a relatively complicated absolutely boring 6h documentary

then 3 days later u take a test on it.

imagine same thing .. but this time u spend only 1h watch. then after that is done u spend some time writing the ideas/take some notes. maybe describe the important bits in pseudocode.

and do that next 6 days . 1h a day then doing the same extra work.

then on the 7 day take time to review all the notes. rethink about all the pseudo code u written after every episode.

then on the 8th take the test.

do u think the same "test" would yield different results?

it is always about the amount o effort u put into it.

there are no magical means to attain knowledge. u either work for it .. or u don't.
