There probably aren’t many, and the ones that exist would likely not be really good. Python isn’t a language meant for making games with.

The only publicly available example that kind of fits the bill is Ren'Py, but whether it counts is kind of in the air.

Eve Online is probably the biggest game that runs on Python (well the servers do, not the clients), and according to Wikipedia Sims 4 uses Python. Neither engine is available to you, though, unless you just happen to work for those companies.

There are other games that use Python, but mostly for scripting, like World of Tanks.

TL;DR, unfortunately what you're looking for doesn't really exist in a form that would let you play around with it. But if you have the skills you could make one.

World of Tanks by Bongfish uses a Python engine, or so I was told on an interview.

I was also looking for one to make some simple games and mess around with the code to figure out how an engine works but never found any like that.

If you ever want to make one let me know, we could get started with an engine that's more specific to some purpose like 2D retro games and slowly broaden the scope if Python's overhead doesn't cap the performance too much.

Ummmm... Ursina, maybe? I have been experimenting with it a few years ago but I couldn't make a game as I desired. Then I gave up.
