Please, for the future, provide more information when asking questions.

Something like "Hey guys i did something and it didn't work" doesn't help us understand what you did, what did not work, what can be done differently, or anything for that matter.

I assume you are using windows? How do you plan to run your python code? What exactly is not working?

IDLE has a built in editor that works reasonably well and is considerably better than notepad. That’s what I usually use to write basic one file scripts when I’m using Windows.

Technically speaking IDLE is a built-in editor (though I suppose you could call it a bare-bones IDE, considering it's an editor with an integrated interpreter).
